ho appena comprato un hard disk esterno della maxtor da 300 giga
a sto impazzendo e non riesco a farlo funzionare
sto sotto win 98 SE ho installato tutto e poi ci sono anche questi due programmi e da quello che ho letto in rete per far si che esca la lettera in risorse del computer lo devo prima formattare; ma i programmi iformat e ufd utility se clicco due volte sopra non si aprono; come risolvo?

sul manuale c'è scritto questo che non ho capito che vuol dire:

vi scrivo solo quello del mio sistema operativo cioè win 98

1. run "setup.exe" under/win98
2. connect the mobile hard disk to pc. window will show theat new hrdware has been found and installed;
3. mobile hard disk should po out in a minute (the new hard disk should be divided into sections with fdisk firts. restart the pc if it fails the icon will appear nromal operation can start after formatting.)

- division of section of the hard disk
FDISK is a software for section division of hard disk after which formatting is possibile. only after formatting can the hard disk run normally. procedures for section division are as follows:
1. enter windows 98
2. connect to hard disk to the computer and confirm that it is ricognized by the computer
3. enter ms-dos mode - start -> program -> ms-dos mode
4. enter fdisk and press enter key
5. follow the instructions to divide the hard disk

allora che mi dice il fatto di fdisk non lo capito proprio ora disinstallo tutto e seguo vostre indicazioni e grazie
