Ho scaricato la versione DVD della Mandriva 2006 versione free da installare sul mio portatile, un Acer Aspire 1694WLMi con la seguente configurazione:

Ho seguito anche le indicazioni dal link http://intuxication.org/~mym/acer/, ma al momento della selezione della scheda video e del monitor, inserendo come monitor FlatPanel 1280x800, risoluzione 1280x800 (o minore) a 16bit, non riesco a selezionare l'opportuno driver xorg, ricevendo ad ogni tentativo di prova dello schermo o schermo nero o immagini distorte, e ovviamente questo mi porta ad essere impossibilitato ad avviare l'interfaccia grafica. Premesso che ho scaricato anche i driver per la scheda video dal sito ati, ma non ho esperienza di installazione di driver su unix, vorrei un consiglio su come risolvere il mio problema.
